Water consumption and water management
AGL consumes a large quantity of water in our generation facilities, along with a number of our offices and other facilities.
There has been a 49% increase in the consumption of water at AGL Torrens and a 19% increase in the consumption of water at AGL Macquarie due to increased generation at these facilities.
The amount of water consumed at our energy generation, upstream gas and corporate facilities, broken down by facility type and by water source can be found here.
The amount of water passed through our hydroelectric power stations as well as seawater and surface water used for cooling the AGL Torrens and Liddell power stations (respectively) that is returned to the source (referred to as “managed water”) can be found here.
