Vinnies CEO recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List
AGL is proud of its long term strategic partnership with St Vincent de Paul.
We’d like to congratulate Dr John Falzon, CEO of Vinnies who has been recognised in the Queens Birthday Honours List for his service to the community through social welfare organisations.
Dr John Falzon is CEO of St Vincent de Paul Society National Council of Australia. He trained in sociology, theology, politics and poetics, he has worked in academia, in community development in large public housing estates and in research and advocacy in NGOs.
Dr Falzon is the recipient of an Order of Australia Medal (OAM).
As part of their five year strategic partnership, AGL supports Vinnies in NSW, VIC, QLD and SA not only through financial support, but together, AGL and Vinnies have produced an “Energy Advice Pack”, which is designed to assist Vinnies volunteers, across the eastern states, to education their clients on energy advice and provide them with tips on how they can save energy.
Vinnies are one of 14 charity partners on AGL’s Energy for Life Employee Giving program. Our program matches employees payroll donations which doubles the impact and value of the employees’ donations to Vinnies.
In addition to the above, AGL employee’s are given the opportunity to volunteer at Vinnies services as part of its Employee Volunteering program.
AGL’s is also supporting Vinnies by participating at the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise crucial funds to assist over 100,000 Australian’s experiencing homelessness every night.
