Volunteering with the Brotherhood of St Laurence

AGL Energy’s Consumer Sales team made the most of their one days’ volunteering leave participating in a cooking challenge at the Brotherhood of St Laurence earlier this week.

The team were welcomed by a member of the Brotherhood as well as Foodbank, the organisation which provides food to various charities.  This welcome talk gave our employees a bit of history and insight into what the organisation does especially at the Coolibah Centre where they were to cook.

The AGL team made main course and then dessert and were asked to come out of the kitchen to meet the residents and then the Brotherhood presented them with awards and gifts (cards and wrapping paper designed by the members in the Centre.

One team member commented:

“The actual task of cooking was quite intense as we knew our efforts had to be up to scratch and also as we’re a competitive bunch in Consumer Sales so we all wanted to win!!”

“We went away on an absolute high, having had a great deal of fun, as well as being under the pump to produce 50 meals in quick succession”.
