UnitingCare Pancake Day

UnitingCare’s Pancake Day was celebrated across various AGL sites during the month of February and our employees raised a total of $1,624.85.

UnitingCare’s work supports some of the great work done through AGL’s Affordability Initiative – a key way in which we are working to help our customers and our communities.

UnitingCare provides services to children, young people and families, Indigenous Australians, people with disabilities, the financially disadvantaged, people from culturally diverse backgrounds and older Australians in urban, rural and remote communities. In Victoria and Tasmania there are 28 UnitingCare agencies that provide these services across both states.

Fun Fact:  Traditionally, Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday was the last day to eat all the luxury foods in the pantry before the start of Lent. These foods included flour, eggs and dairy products which when combined, makes delicious pancakes! It subsequently also explains why the day was also known as Fat Tuesday!
