Hydraulic fracturing at Gloucester now completed

Yesterday the final hydraulic fracture at AGL’s Gloucester Waukivory project was conducted, marking the successful conclusion of the five week phase of the project.

During this time, nineteen zones were hydraulically fractured at depths ranging from 371 to 965 metres below the ground.  Preliminary findings suggest all fractures were successfully confined to the targeted coal seam areas. The operations were completed safely.

The data gathered during the hydraulic fracturing and in the upcoming de-watering and flow testing will provide insight into the nature of the coal, gas and water resources underneath the Gloucester Basin.
