What would AGL’s Generation Portfolio look like with MacGen?
Yesterday’s decision by the Australian Competition Tribunal has effectively overturned the ACCC’s decision to oppose AGL’s proposed acquisition of the assets of Macquarie Generation.
These assets include the 2,640 MW Bayswater Power Station, the 2,000 MW Liddell Power Station and the 50 MW Hunter Valley Gas Turbines, all located in New South Wales.
When added to AGL’s existing renewable and thermal generation portfolio, the acquisition of these assets would take AGL’s total owned, operated or controlled generation capacity to 10,637 MW, located across South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland (along with small embedded generation in Tasmania and Western Australia).
